Faith and Authority

Mark 4:35-40 says, And the same day, when the evening was come, He said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with Him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awoke Him, and said unto Him, Master, don’t you care that we perish? And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, why are you so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Jesus said, “Let us pass over unto the other side, and there was enough power and authority in those words to accomplish the job.”

Jesus did not take command of the ship to see that His words were carried out. He walked to the back of the boat and went to sleep. Jesus delegated the authority to His disciples, and they accepted it. But when the storm came, they were filled with fear that the boat would sink. Jesus had to carry out the responsibility of authority that He had delegated to them by rebuking the wind and the sea.

We have the power and the authority to take the Word of God, the name of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit and run Satan out of our affairs.
