There are times when each one of us could use some encouragement and support. If we didn't possess the ability to stir ourselves up, the Bible would not have told us to do so.
2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
Paul is telling Timothy it is his responsibility to stir up the gift of God inside of him.
Every born-again believer has the capability to stir themselves up, whether it is a gift of God like Timothy had or the fruit of the Spirit.
God has put deposits on the inside of you that can be developed and stirred up. There are a couple of ways you can stir yourself up.
By Remembrance
Paul reminded Timothy to stir himself up. Also, Peter said in 2 Peter 1:13 " As
long as I draw breath, I know it is right for me to keep on stirring you up with these reminders."
Therefore, remembrance is a key in becoming stirred up.
Speaking And Hearing God's Word
Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering for He is faithful that promised.
Keeping the Word in our heart, taking time to study the Word and being a doer of it will always keep our gift that’s in us stirred up.
