Hebrews 12:2 We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because His heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!
Choices are with us all the time. When we start our day, we get to choose how we’ll live the day. We can choose to live in faith and happiness focused on God’s promises or we can choose to live discouraged and defeated focused on the problems. But Jesus paid the price for us to be happy.
When we keep our focus on Jesus our expectation will be - He is more than enough.
What He saw before Him was the joy that we would forever be with Him, which empowered Him to go through the agony of the cross.
Instead of staying in heaven with God and the angels, He chose us as the joy set before Him. He desires us to the point of laying down His life and being with God, to be with us.
He took on everything the enemy had planned for us. Sin, sickness, poverty, depression and wiped it out. He paid for it all.
He came after us, not looking at our weaknesses, failures, or sin but what we would be. This is what moved Him to become a man. The joy that was set before Him, our salvation.
