Joy

Joy is a spiritual gift that doesn’t come from the outside. It comes from the inside. Joy isn’t around you, but it’s in you. That is the miracle of the new birth. The joy of the Lord is in you right now, regardless of how you feel. Because you are a believer, you can call on it and it will go to work for you.

Jesus knew that life would be hard sometimes. He knew we would have tribulations, trouble, heartache, and sorrow. And He told us what to do about it.

He said in John 16:33,“I’ve told you this so that My peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble and sorrow. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus has taken away the power this world has to defeat us and has conquered it for us. His peace that’s available to us rests in His victory.

We can draw on the fruit of joy. Our comfort comes from knowing that He has already overcome the world and all the tribulations, trouble and sorrow that are in it. And as His kids, we’re legally entitled to share in that victory.
