Ephesians 4:27 says do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].

In this new year stay above the devil and his tactics. Don’t give him any opportunity to get you off track but refuse offence, anger or bitterness. He knows if he can get you offended you won’t be able to fulfill your plans for the year.

You have the ability to live free from the lies of the enemy. It’s all a part of God's plan of redemption through Jesus Christ. You weren't delivered from the power of darkness because of anything you did, but because of what Jesus did. Jesus rose victorious over death, hell, and the grave. God raised Him from the dead, and gave Him a Name above every name. And that Name belongs to you.

Because of Jesus, you have the authority to say to the devil: "In Jesus' Name I resist you! In Jesus' Name I stand against every strategy you have set against me! You have no authority over me, for through Jesus I have been delivered from the power of darkness. And, Satan, for the rest of my life, I refuse to give you any place in me!" Stand strong in the power of your authority for the New Year.
