1 Corinthians 1:26-28 says, 26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. 27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
God chose us. You may feel inadequate but God still chose you. God doesn't choose as we
would; we look at the person's appearance but God looks at the heart.
God chose David to be a giant killer over his brothers. God chose Gideon to be a mighty man of valor. In their eyes they may not have seen themselves as prime
choices, but God doesn't think or choose like we would.
God chose a stuttering man named Moses to deliver His people. God chose a fearful man named Gideon. God even chose an enemy of the church by the name of Saul of
Tarsus to bring His Word to the Gentiles. God chose a young girl, Mary to bring the Messiah into the world.
What’s being said by all this? Don’t look at yourself as who and what you are but look at yourself as what God says who and what you are. You are chosen.
