John 12:49-50 says, For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.
Jesus had faith that what the Father was telling Him was the truth and it would work.
In the wilderness when the devil came to tempt Jesus telling Him turn these rocks into bread.
The devil questioned Jesus, “What do you believe?” You can speak to a mountain and it obey You, then speak to these rocks and make bread – if that’s what you believe? Practice what You preach.
But Jesus wouldn’t do it because the Father didn’t tell Him to do it. Jesus was so submitted to God – He wouldn’t give the command that He didn’t hear the Father say.
Jesus walked in total authority, power and protection. He spoke to the wind and it obeyed. He spoke to the waves and they obeyed. He rebuked sickness & it left. He spoke to the dead and they lived.
I only say what the Father tells Me to say. All the authority I walk in is under the Father.
Great faith is connected to complete submission.
