John 14:15-17 says, “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments. ¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— ¹⁷ the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.

Jesus said this to His disciples as He was about to face death on the cross. They didn’t want to believe it. Jesus told them He would be sending someone who wouldn't just replace Him, but would be exactly like Him, and would do just as He would.

The word "another" in verse 16 means "one of the very same kind.

The Holy Spirit is our most valuable gift from God. He’s our best friend, He knows all the right answers, He will guide us, He will teach us and comfort us.

Romans 5:5 says God poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to us.
