Romans 14:7 says, For none of us lives only in relation to himself…

John Donne said, “No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main.”

No doubt, sports teams couldn’t succeed without teamwork; churches don’t reach their full potential without coming together in unity; families and marriages cannot accomplish all they’re capable of without supporting and working together. We were created for connections and relationships, to reach our full purpose with others by our side.

If we’re an “island” trying to make life work on our own, then we’re going to have a difficult time reaching our full potential. And this doesn’t just affect us; it affects everyone we would have had an effect on had we tapped into our complete capacity.

No one has all the answers; we all need people to help advise and counsel us. We can connect with others who can help accomplish our God-given purpose in life. And be free to offer gifts and talents of our self to help others succeed and to advance God’s Kingdom.
