2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says, For though we walk in the world, we do not fight according to this world’s rules of warfare. The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth.  We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.

You've prayed and meditated on the New Year’s plan. It’s firmly planted in your mind. The excitement for the start is even high.

A situation comes up that tempts you to break the plan. This is where the faithful are separated from mere intentions. This is the battle. Your enemy wants you to succeed at nothing that improves your quality of life—especially if it draws you closer to God. He has plenty of lies, tricks and distractions to mess up your new plans.

We should expect opposition in the preparation of our plans for the New Year. The devil worked to stop Jesus, and he’ll work to stop you. You are God’s creation. You represent everything that the devil hates. So, he’s against you!

First, know that anytime you want to develop a godlier lifestyle and draw closer to God—it’s a good thing! Secondly, you can’t do it without God’s help. Finally, Jesus continually prayed and so should we. It was the source of His strength. Communion with His Father, renewed His wisdom and power again and again.

Pray Psalm 33:11, "But the Lord's plans stand firm forever. Stand against every attempt of the enemy to get you to quit. You’ve got the weapons to shut him down! Fulfill the plans God has for you in the New Year.
