1 John 5:1, 4-5 say, “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
We’re born overcomers, we were designed that way. It’s God’s will for us. His Spirit living in us is greater than anything that can come against us. It’s always possible to overcome. God made us to be overcomers and He always causes us to triumph.
It may not feel that way or look like it and the situation is telling you it’s not possible. But the truth is we don’t go by our feelings or the way it looks if we have faith in God. All things are possible to him that believes.
Faith in God is a choice. I’m not talking about knowing about Him or believing in Him. Any Christian can say that. I’m talking about having faith in Him, trusting Him and having confidence in Him.
Feelings of fear will come when going through situations but we have to resist it. The devil will say: It’s too late, you’re already scared, look at yourself you’re confused and don’t know what to do. Well, that’s when we say NO! I refuse to fear. Even in a full panic attack it doesn’t mean you’re defeated.
Just because these feelings come doesn’t mean it’s over.
Turn to your faith and say NO to fear. Make the choice to resist it. Say: Fear get out of here – I resist you, I refuse to fear.
When you start doing that – things will start to change in your life. Fear will lose its grip and power over you – it will have to release you and go.
That’s the Spirit of Faith.
