The Fruit of the Spirit May 3, 2021

Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control: against such there is no law.”

It would be great if the power of God were flowing through us all the time, to walk in it every day of our life.

God has given us a well of supernatural power that lives within us. He has made resident within our spirit mighty forces that can enable us to overcome anything the devil might throw our way any moment of the day or night.

Galatians 5:22-23 calls these unbeatable forces the fruit of the spirit.

The fruit of the spirit are not just nice qualities we should adopt so we will be pleasant company. The fruit of the spirit actually releases the supernatural power of God in our lives.

Love, is God's power to overcome every obstacle, 1 Corinthians 13:8, says: "Love never fails."

Joy fortifies you with supernatural power when you start to weaken,             Nehemiah 8:10 says, "The joy of the Lord is your strength."

Peace undergirds you and helps you make supernaturally correct decisions, Colossians 3:15, says, "Let the peace...from Christ rule in your hearts-deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds."

Patience in James 1:4, says, Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

Kindness and goodness in Colossians 3:12 says,Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Faithfulness in Hebrews 10:23 says, “We must hold on to God's promise that we have said we believed. And we must never let go. He has promised and He will do it.”

Meekness in James 3:13 says, Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.”

Self-control in Titus 2:12 says, “Say no to ungodliness & worldly passions, and … live self-controlled, upright & godly lives in this present age.”

The fruit of the spirit are God's provision for strength in our life, so we can be overcoming in all circumstances. Practice them.  Yield to them more and more. Watch those life forces come out and put us over as we grow. When we do, we'll flow in the fruit...the fruit of the spirit!
