Psalms 1:1-3 - Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

There are rewards for walking in the ways of God.

One benefit of walking in the ways of God is that we will prosper in all we do.

If we walk in the counsel of the ungodly, we will be compromising.  No one sets out to compromise but sometimes people try to make things work out themselves.

The way of faith causes you to go forward. It enables us to be patient and trust God to see us through.

The way of compromise causes us to go backward.  Anyone that chooses the way of compromise can end up quitting and giving up on God's Word.

Compromise "seems right" but the outcome is not always what we expected. Pastor Gene said, “Whatever you compromise to keep you will ultimately lose.”

The only way we can go forward in a world that is going backward is to walk in the ways of God! We walk by faith and not by sight.

Even though it seems that the way of faith is the "hard way," it is the way to victory! Even though standing in faith takes longer sometimes, it is God's way. And God’s way is the only way we will have the reward we want!
